The queen of night sky and stars
Day locked behind murky bars
Shadows twist and morph ‘round her
Undulate and turn and blur
With smooth skin pale as the moon
Seamless and perfectly hewn
Faceted sapphire eyes
Deeper than the midnight skies
Focused stolid on her prey
Tricking, leading them astray
Angel of darkness and death
She’ll snuff out one’s shaky breath
Courier of night itself
Walks softer than any elf
Seeing every tree that turns
As the wilting forest burns
Hunter of the endless river
On her back a brimming quiver
Ever watching never ending
Resolve stony and unbending
